Mill Mountain Park
Located less than 5 minutes from downtown Roanoke, the trails at Mill Mountain Park are some of the best in the area. This area offers 900 acres of park space atop Mill Mountain, picnic areas, two scenic overlooks, access to additional trails, the Mill Mountain Zoo and the Mill Mountain Discovery Center.
The Virginia Tech Hokies
Just over 35 minutes from downtown Roanoke you will find Lane Stadium, home of NCAA's Division I Atlantic Coast Conference powerhouse The Virginia Tech Hokies, the football team of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Join the excitement as they battle their way to a Bowl game! If football is not your thing, Virginia Tech also has 19 NCAA Division 1 athletic teams, so you can always take in some basketball, base- ball, golf, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, and wrestling.
